Aging in Place
A collaboration between the residents of Rivers Run and Rochester Institute of Technology.
Friday, May 10th 3:00pm – 5:00pm
The Center for Disease Control defines Aging in Place as "the ability to live in one's own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level.” Twenty eight industrial design students from RIT’s School of Design are working with an advisory team from Rivers Run over a 10 week period during the spring semester to develop new design concepts for everyday products that enable Aging in Place.

At Rivers Run community members have the opportunity to exercise their body and mind in a supportive, friendly environment. All year, community members have the opportunity to participate in the Osher Institute at RIT, located at Rivers Run, take various wellness classes in the fitness studio and partake in diverse and vibrant social programs. Community members can take classes at no charge at RIT's main campus and Rivers Run provides new community members a 6-month membership at the Osher Institute. The Rivers Run team will happily assists with RIT class and event registration.
